Electrospray Ionization Source(ESI)

Sample solution flows through a capillary, forming charged aerosol droplets under high-voltage electric field (3-5 kV). Nebulizing gas (N₂) promotes uniform dispersion. As droplets evaporate in the drying gas stream: Charge density increases; Coulombic fission occurs; Solvent-stripped ions form (M+H⁺/M-H⁻).

Introduction

The ESI (Electrospray Ionization) Source enables gentle yet efficient ionization of complex samples, delivering high sensitivity and broad compound coverage. As the preferred ionization technique for biomacromolecules and polar substances, it excels in: Preserving molecular integrity; Maximizing ion yield for trace analysis.
