Background
Rabies is a zoonotic infectious disease caused by infection with the Rabies virus. The Rabies virus primarily invades the human body through broken skin or mucous membranes, and clinically manifests primarily as specific aerophobia (fear of wind), hydrophobia (fear of water), pharyngeal muscle spasm, progressive paralysis, and other symptoms. In recent years, the number of reported deaths from rabies has consistently ranked among the top of China's notifiable infectious diseases, posing a severe threat to the life and health of the general public.
This product is manufactured using the fixed rabies virus aG strain, cultured in primary hamster kidney cells, and processed through inactivation, concentration, and purification. It contains no adjuvant and is thimerosal-free. It is indicated for post-exposure immunization in individuals bitten or scratched by rabid or other rabid animals, as well as pre-exposure prophylaxis for personnel at risk of exposure to the rabies virus.
